The event was organized by Green Synergy Cluster and Municipality of Brezovo, partners in the REVERTER project, which aims to reduce energy poverty in the area by creating road maps for increasing energy efficiency in residential buildings and One Stop Shop for renovation in the Municipality of Brezovo.
The topic of the information meeting was Heat pumps for heating and cooling in households, and the aim was to familiarize all interested citizens with the different types of heat pumps and the benefits of their use in residential buildings.
The event started with the presentation of the One Stop Shop – Brezovo, created within the REVRETER project.
Eng. Daniela Kostova presented the established and already functioning One-Stop Shop for renovation – Brezovo, created within the REVRETER project. It aims to facilitate the process of renovation of buildings in the Municipality of Brezovo by providing citizens with comprehensive support at every stage of the renovation. The concept includes both a physical office in the Brezovo municipality building and the online platform: www.reverter-brezovo.bg, which gathers in one place all the necessary services and information related to the process of renovation of residential buildings.
The activities that will be carried out in the One-stop shop for renovation in the Municipality of Brezovo will cover:
- Raising awareness of the benefits of energy renovation.
- Awareness and training of citizens about energy efficiency in the home
- Providing information about renewal opportunities
- Providing information on available financial support schemes
- Carrying out a preliminary analysis for admissibility when applying for programs for financing energy efficiency measures.
- Expert advice on building renovation issues and directing citizens to appropriate experts, engineers and organizations.
The speaker on the next topic of the event was Eng. Stoyan Dimitrov from Green Synergy Cluster. He presented to the attendees the different applications of heat pumps for households, the types of heat pump systems, depending on the heat source, as well as the principle of operation of heat pumps.
Attendees were also introduced to the various factors for choosing heat pumps, including: the size of the house/apartment; whether it is a new or an existing house – the newly built building meets all efficiency standards and thus helps to reduce costs; the extent to which preparatory work is required (eg whether a new electrical supply is needed from the fuse box to the heat pump location); whether the installer recommends retrofitting the radiators to improve efficiency, etc.
The event continued with a discussion in an informal setting, where citizens could ask specific questions and get expert advice from the speakers.
Attendees also had the opportunity to sign up for a free energy analysis of their home, which also includes thermal imaging.
