The Municipality of Agioi Anargyroi & Kamatero (AAK) recently played host to two significant events aimed at enhancing awareness about the importance of energy upgrading in residences. Held within the framework of the European LIFE program “REVERTER,” these seminars were pivotal in emphasizing the role of energy efficiency in improving living standards and reducing energy expenses.
The first event, held on December 14, 2023, at the 1st KAPI of Agios Anargyroi, was followed by another successful gathering on February 9, 2024, at the 1st KAPI of Kamatero. With a combined attendance of 95 individuals, these events garnered substantial interest, particularly among elderly residents, reflecting a growing community engagement in sustainable practices.
The Municipality of AAK has demonstrated proactive engagement and conscientious efforts in educating its citizens on the benefits of energy conservation, thereby fostering a culture of sustainability within the community.
Key speakers at both events included:
- Dimitris Damigos: Coordinator of the REVERTER project and Professor at the National Technical University of Athens.
- Giorgos Pavlikakis: General Secretary of E.K.POI.ZO.
- Vicky Dzega: Legal Advisor of E.K.POI.ZO.
Their presentations underscored the significance of energy upgrading in residences, emphasizing its pivotal role in enhancing quality of life and reducing energy expenditure. The seminars served as platforms to inform attendees about practical energy-saving measures applicable to their homes, as well as opportunities for participation in project initiatives, such as home visits by the project’s energy ambassadors.
The overarching goal of these events was to inspire community members to embrace sustainable practices, thereby contributing to collective efforts in combating energy poverty and promoting environmental stewardship.
The success of these seminars not only reflects the Municipality’s commitment to fostering a more energy-conscious community but also highlights the effectiveness of collaborative initiatives like REVERTER in driving positive change at the grassroots level. Through continued engagement and education, AAK remains steadfast in its pursuit of a more sustainable and resilient future for its residents.
